Connect via VPN

Optional — Direct access to private IPs

Connecting via VPN lets you access machines directly using their private IP addresses. This is optional — you can also use the interactive network topology.

Setup Instructions

Windows

1. Install OpenVPN Connect

2. Double-click the downloaded .ovpn file to connect

macOS

1. Install OpenVPN Connect or Tunnelblick

2. Open the downloaded .ovpn file to connect

Linux

1. Run in terminal:

sudo openvpn --config vpn-client.ovpn

Important

Ensure your local network IP range does not conflict with the lab machine IPs. Conflicting addresses will prevent connectivity.

Each network has a different VPN config file. Disconnect from any other active VPN before connecting.
